We are really proud and happy to have this project successfully finished after a couple of months with hard work.
It is time now to take a deep breath and to say thank you to all, who believed, who helped or who promoted this project:
Michel le Stum for his fantastic artwork and his unbelievable friendship. Andreas Hoellige from DA Musik for his help and his believe in this crazy project. Mrs. Christiane Dass-Kriester for her help under difficult circumstances to find the right image for our beautiful Head-Visions cover. Mr. Allessandro Ugazio for his fantastic 360° shot of Rainer Kriester's sculpturpark in Verdone, Italy. Rainer Sauer for his unbreakable believe into electronic music and his believe in the Vinyls;-)

Aufgrund der zu erwartenden, hohen Fertigungsqualität gehen wir von einem "Go" für die Produktion aus. Danach dauert es nur noch wenige Tage und wir dürfen Euch dann stolz "Head-Visions" präsentieren.
Wen es interessiert, der kann sich die Wartezeit ein wenig mit dem Promo-Video der Fa. Pallas (dem Presswerk) verkürzen. Die Musik im Video ist übrigens nicht von Bernd Kistenmacher ;-)

Today we bring the good news, that we will receive the test-pressings for the album on 3rd of july. We conclude, that we are very excited about the result. The sides of the album have easily extended length. Here are the official times:

MIRecords Webshop open now!
Die Dinge gehen nun schnell voran. Wir freuen uns Euch mitzuteilen, dass der Webshop von MIRecords ab heute seine Pforten geöffnet hat. Wir bereiten aktuell die Veröffentlichung des Elektronikklassikers "Head-Visions" auf Vinyl vor. Das Datum der Veröffentlichung ist der 01. Juli 2012.
Doch jetzt schon kann das Album im Webshop vorbestellt werden. Wer dies bis zum 30. Juni 2012 macht, bekommt das Album von Bernd Kistenmacher persönlich handsigniert und die LP wird auf Wunsch auch mit einer persönlichen Widmung versehen. Eine schöne Geschenkidee, oder? Vinylmania - ein Film des italienischen Filmemachers Paola Campana, ist eine Liebeserklärung an die Schallplatte. Ein Film eines begeisterten Fans für begeisterte Fans der schwarzen Scheiben. Und diese Fans waren es auch, die der Produktionsfirma durch ein unglaubliches Kickstarter-Projekt geholfen haben, damit dieser Film auch auf DVD erscheinen kann.Der Traum ist nun wahr geworden und die DVD liegt uns in einer Special-Edition nun vor. ein echtes Sammlerstück. Dieser Film ist eine Motivationshilfe für alle, die überlegen, ob sie ihre Plattensammlung zum Trödel oder doch lieber wieder ins Wohnzimmer stellen sollen und ein absolutes Muss für alle, die darüber sowieso keine Zweifel hegen. Absolut Empfehlenswert!

Über die Wiedergeburt von "Head-Visions" - About the rebirth of "Head-Visions"
"Alles auf Anfang!" möchte man ausrufen. Mit MIRecords wird ein längst tot
geglaubtes Label wieder reaktiviert; 1999 wurden hierauf die letzten Tonträger veröffentlicht. Nun wird das Kult-Label bald wieder "online" sein und es werden auf ihm ausschließlich Schallplatten (...ja genau, diese schwarzen, runden Dinger aus Kunststoff, die so gerne zerkratzen,
wenn man sie falsch behandelt, und deshalb verhüllt von Papier in Taschen aus Karton stecken).
Dabei waren Vinyl-Schallplatten doch noch viel tot geglaubter als das Label, auf dem sie nun bald erscheinen werden. Doch unser fester Glaube an die Sinnlichkeit von Dingen, die man gerne anfasst und deren Rillen Musik zum Erlebnis für die Sinne werden lassen, hat über die Macht des bedingungslosen elektronischen Fortschritts gesiegt.
Beginnen wird das Ganze mit der Veröffentlichung eines ebenfalls in der Versenkung verschwundenen Elektronik-Klassikers: "Head-Visions", dem ersten "echten" Solo-Album von Bernd Kistenmacher.
Dieses Vinyl-Album wird die erste Veröffentlichung auf MIRecords sein.
Aber um dies mit wirklich gutem Gewissen tun zu können, müssen wir auch an dieses Album Hand anlegen. Besser gesagt, wir sind gerade dabei. Diesen Prozess der Wiedergeburt wollen wir in diesem Blog in der nächsten Zeit gerne dokumentieren. Sozusagen ein "Making of Head-Visions"
Diese Geschichte beginnt mt dem Gang ins Archiv und der Insichtnahme der alten Original-Bänder. Es handelt sich um 1/2 Zoll Breite 8-Spur Tonbänder.
Und um diese wieder abspielen zu können, haben wir uns die Bandmaschine besorgt, mit der die Aufnahmen damals gemacht worden sind. Schon das ist kein so leichtes Unterfangen. Diese Maschinen sind gut 25 - 30 Jahre alt und man muss sich schon ein wenig umschauen, um eine gut erhaltene Tascam zu einem vertretbaren Preis zu finden. Wir hatten Glück und haben einen kleinen Schatz, der aus Süd-Deutschland stammt, gehoben.

26 Jahre alte Bänder wieder benutzen zu wollen, birgt ein hohes Risiko in sich. Jeder gute Archivar weiß, dass solche Bänder regelmäßig umgespult werden müssen, damit die einzelnen Band-Schichten nicht zu dicht auf einanderliegen und es zu Problemen mit der Magnetschicht und ihrer Information darauf (der Musik) kommt.
Also genau das ist mit den alten Aufnahmen von "Head-Visions" nicht geschehen und es kam, wie es kommen musste. Der erste Versuch, die Aufnahmen von "Rücksturz" (der A-Seite) abzuhören, scheitert. Der zweite und dritte ebenfalls. Fünf Mal musste das Band komplett umgespult werden, um genügend "Luft" zwischen die einzelnen Schichten zu bekommen, damit das Band ohne Gleichlaufschwankungen abgespielt werden konnten. Und ja, das erste Band war beinahe unbrauchbar geworden. Ob und wie der Transfer der Tonspuren in die moderne Audiowelt gelungen ist, berichten wir in Kürze!

"Back to beginning!" one might say. Since many years, the end of MIRecords seemed to be a fact but it is also fact, that this label will be re-activated soon. In 1999, the last records were published. Now it will soon be back "online" and we will publish only real vinyl records (yes, those black round things that stuck in bags made of cardboard and which get easily scratched, if you treat them wrong). Vinyl records were much more expected to be "dead" than the label on which they will be released soon, but we believe in sensuality and things you like to touch. Vinyl records are definitely a part of it..
The whole project will begin with the publication of an also disappeared into oblivion electronic classic. We talk about Bernd Kistenmacher's first "real" solo album "Head-Visions".
"Head-Visions" will be the first release on MIRecords.
But to realize this with really good conscience, we must also invest in this album some hand. Rather, we're at it. We want to document this process of rebirth in this blog in the next time. So to speak clearly, this is a "making of Head-Visions".
This story begins with a walk into the archives, to get a view on the old original tapes. And we found 8-track tapes with 1/2 inch width.
And in order to play this tapes again, we have dug out THE tape recorder, with which the recordings were made at that time. That is itself no easy task, because such machines are easily 25 - 30 years old and you've to look around to find a well-preserved Tascam at reasonable costs. We were lucky to have lifted a little treasure that comes from Southern-Germany.
Speaking of those days! Right. We talk about the year 1986!
Using 26 year old tapes again holds a high risk in itself. Every good archivist knows that those tapes must be rewound on a regular basis, so that the individual band layers don't come too close to each other and to cause problems with the magnetic layer and their information on it (the music).
So this is exactly what with the old recordings of "Head-Visions" did not happen. Listening to the recordings of "Rücksturz" (the A-side) for the first trial, failed. The second and third as well. Five times the tape had to be completely rewound to get enough "air" between the individual layers, so that the tape could be played without a flutter. And yes, the tape was very close to described as "unusable". Whether and how the transfer of audio tracks into the modern audio-world has been managed, will be told here soon!

MIRecords - To listen and touch!
Hallo Fans und Freunde elektronischer Musik,
wir sind stolz und glücklich, die Rückkehr von MIRecords - dem Label für elektronische Musik - ankündigen zu dürfen.
Nach über 10jähriger Ruhephase wird das Label nun im Frühsommer 2012 wieder aktiviert; und zwar als reines Vinyllabel!
Elektronische Musik auf Schallplatten, gut gemachte Aufnahmen, tolle Plattencover, Sammlerstücke. Musik zum anfassen. Ein sinnlicher Prozess. Das ist etwas, wovon wir schon lange geträumt haben. Nun scheint die Zeit gekommen zu sein, dieses Projekt anzupacken.
An dieser Stelle werdet Ihr bald mehr davon zu sehen und zu hören bekommen. Die aktuellen Neuigkeiten von MIRecords findet Ihr nur hier!

we are happy to announce the return of MIRecords - the label for music from Bernd Kistenmacher.
MIRecords returns to his own roots and will publish Vinyls only. Vinyls are the secret love of Bernd Kistenmacher and we will publish his music in high quality pressing, designed as collectors items.
